 **Notes**: I can't read the backlight voltage specification on the compatible LCD  {{https://mvdlande.files.wordpress.com/2016/08/hb24208-hb24209-vlgem1021-03-vlgem1021a-02-lcd-datasheet.pdf|datasheet}}, it looks like 3.0V, 180mA.  In testing I get 140mA at 3.0v, or 180mA at 3.3V which gives a reasonable amount of light.
